SUBJECT: The Herndon Monument Climb by the Class of 2011 was completed in 2:35.59 and was capped by midshipman Greg Reichel of Hershey, Pa. The first members of the Naval Academy 2011 class to charge the Herndon Monument found about 100 pound of lard smeared on all sides. It took 2:23.59 to complete the task of putting a cap on top during the Plebe recognition ceremony.
