NA/AIG BAILOUT VOTE: WASHINGTON, DC: Melina Mara The House passed by a two thirds majority a 90 percent tax on employee bonuses paid this year by companies receiving substantial federal bailout money (TARP), on Capitol Hill Thursday, March 19, 2009. The legislation is in response to the public outrage surrounding the recent AIG $165 million in bonus checks. Ways and Means Committee Chairman Charles Rangel (D-NY) speaks to reporters after passage of the vote. Rangel was the sponsor of the bill.
