Ajitbhai Narela, 55-year old farmer in Mithi Virdi-Jasapara says he will not sell his fertile land to make way for a nuclear plant built with American technology. The plant is one of the two sites set aside for American companies under the historic civilian nuclear agreement that was signed between India and the United States last year. Narela is also worried about some new pamphlets and graffitti in the village that warn against health hazards of living close to a nuclear plant. At the national level, a larger debate is raging about the upcoming nuclear liability law.
