ME/STRAWBERRY 5/23/03 DELAPLANE,VA/EMANUEL EPISCOPAL CHURCH BY: MARGARET THOMAS TWP Local strawberry festivals have outgrown the local supply, so some berries are being trucked in from California. The Delaplane Strawberry Festival, sponsored by Emanuel Episcopal Church occurs this weekend, and 100 flats of straberries (about 1100 pounds) were delivered to the church. Volunteers then gathered to wash, trim and slice them up as topping for strawberry sundaes. Robert DeBerrie helps was strawberries.
